Re Dr. Carson: I think that his and Mr. Trump's popularity reflect a deep frustration with a broken political system and an increasing ignorance in the public's knowledge about how a democracy is supposed to work. If there was more activism from informed people in our political system, we'd be a helluva lot better off than we are, but people are so pressed to the wall trying to survive that that's unlikely.
