I just received my California "Official Voter Information Guide." So, I'm thumbing through the statements of the senate candidates and one really stands out above all the others. The statement of Democratic candidate, Ms. Massie Munroe.

Her photo appears normal. Perhaps even attractive. Nothing unusual there.

She says, "My candidacy represents the United States Constitution, the only contract between the people of America and America's government 'Of the people, By the people, For the people' to be restored and strengthened in America and extended to the UN as a contract between all people of our world through US leadership and diplomacy. International bankers, multinational corporate leaders, militaries and police must all 100% obey, comply with the Constitution of the US/UN in the Spirit of Truth, Serving All in Peace. Transforming from the Industrial Technology Age to the new 'Energy Technology Era' will saturate US job markets for the next 500 years. My campaign represents ending international bankers' rule and their financial exploitation of nations; reestablishing people's rule by creating a Citizen's Bank to serve as America's central bank; ending mind control slavery; ending non-consensual human experimentation; ending hunger, homelessness and violence; protecting earth, water, air, forests, oceans, and animals; practicing Christ consciousness and implementing constitutional justice under the leadership of the US/UN. Through my national and international research and political activism, I identified "mind control slavery" by satellite energy technology weapons and social engineering programs that have been in continual development for the past 50 years and facilitated their declassification. As a result, I came under heavy sanctions that are ongoing. I request you, the voter, to rise above all untrue accusations that assail my good character and heart. See my evidence and review my service. Senator Bernie Sanders' presidency is crucial for bringing this into reality."

Now I admit, I am unfamiliar with the requirements one must meet in order to run for political office. But after reading Ms. Munroe's statement, I am a bit concerned that, perhaps, the bar is set a bit too low. Now, we as California taxpayers paid for this publication to be printed and distributed (one per voting household) across the entire state. Are we really just going to pay to publish the words of any crackpot who plans to rule the world with her US/UN Constitution? Or am I just suffering from "mind control slavery?" Seriously, I want my taxes back.

Please reference my latest thread posted today in Pat.net--how unexceptional does this seem to have happened in California:

According to the US Senate, the qualifications to "serve" as senator are:

"The Constitution sets three qualifications for service in the U.S. Senate: age (at least thirty years of age); U.S. citizenship (at least nine years); and residency in the state a senator represents at time of election." www.senate.gov/history/instdev.htm

They left out that they must be breathing and/or have a pulse.... or maybe that's not a requirement.

These are the idiots attempting to represent us in Washington. Yay!

5   Ceffer   2016 Apr 27, 11:48pm

They need to include, "Willingness to accept both direct and indirect bribes to steer legislation"

6   zzyzzx   2016 Apr 28, 8:16am

Why are you getting information on Democrat candidates?

They are all in the same book, "Official Voter Information Guide." Five of the seven republican candidates were boring compared to Ms. Munroe. Older men who are former lawyers, accountants, MBAs... Not much entertainment value there. They all seem pretty normal. The odd Republican candidates don't really say anything crazy... They just don't say anything much, at all. For example, Republican candidate Jerry Laws simply states "Constitutionalist. Americanism. www.lawsussenate2016.com." Republican candidate Karen Roseberry says simply, "S.A.V.E. the future!" Neither statement says enough to determine if these people are nuts or just EXTREMELY concise with words. Even if they aren't nuts, they've certainly proven their lack of communication skills, which isn't exactly a desirable quality in a Senator, but hardly qualifies a person as crazy.

There are 21 candidates in total. 1 Green; 6 Democrats; 7 Independents; and 7 Republicans.

The Independents and the Democrats have the most entertaining statements. You've got Ms. Munroe above. She's fun. You've got Democratic candidate "President Cristina Grappo" (President appears to be her first name). She hopes to be a "United Senator" and describes herself as "mainstream Facebook." (What???) And you've got Independent candidate Jason Hanania who wrote his statement using binary code 01100101.

Clearly, the bar is set very low for people who want to run for public office. And sanity is optional.

I would say Massie Monroe is more sensible than senator Ted Cruz, the presidential candidate. At least Monroe wants non-US citizens to have human rights, too. For example, the rights not to be tortured by the US government, and not to be held in lifetime detention in Guantanamo Bay, and not to be killed by a drone strike.

I think I know why Republicans are upset that this woman can run for Senate: She makes right-wingers look bad by comparison.

10   HydroCabron   2016 Apr 28, 11:47am

We still have candidates claiming:

1- Tax cuts increase revenue (after 35 years of disproof)
2 - We need to rebuild America's military, which already has a larger budget than those of all our potential enemies combined
3 -Trannies are coming to pork our daughters
4 - Planet Earth crispy carbon bake-off isn't real
5 - The world is less than 10,000 years old

Amazingly, you can actually be dumber than this. "Christ consciousness" and "mind-control slavery" is actually dumber than the above, if only a little.

"practising Christ consciousness" == Aspire to following the original Golden Rule: Do onto others, etc.
"mind-control slavery" == Being misinformed by the endless propaganda of the mainstream media

I'd say about Massie Monroe that her heart is in the right place, she just needs to polish her message. Without employing turd polishers, Ted Cruz would sound twice as bad as her. Not to mention how much worse he REALLY is .

Is a mental status exam too much of an application requirement?

(Would that be a blind test were Ted Cruz would be tested anonymously along with an assortment of 100 other people, or a special exam just for Ted Cruz?)

You can't be serious. You think a psychologist should determine whether a person is qualified to run for public office or hold positions of importance? It appears that you may not be aware that "psychological evaluation" and imprisonment in mental institutions was one of the more popular ways that the much-maligned Soviet Union dealt with their dissidents. And you think it is ok for US to do that? Pray tell, is that because "we are the good guys" or for some other reason?

Come on, turtledove. You are not this stupid. It is ok to make fun of candidates, but to suggest that they should be subject to mental exams is evil and totalitarian. I think in reality you know better than this.

But someone who thinks like you, might say that YOU are unqualified to hold public office, and perhaps also unqualified to vote, because of making a statement like "Is a mental status exam too much of an application requirement?"

In this case, yes. She is likely clinically delusional. Her appearance in our voter guide was paid for by taxpayer dollars, published and distributed by our Secretary of State. We shouldn't have to pay to humor an objectively crazy person. This isn't about disagreeing with her opinions on how to fix the world. She believes that there is satellite technology that is controlling people's minds. This is tinfoil hat territory.

Okay, you don't want to refund my share of those wasted tax dollars... But don't you think that the money could be used better than for the printing and distributing of statements by the clinically insane?

Do you think those dissidents in the Soviet Union were deemed objectively crazy or not by the Soviet authorities?

Massie Monroe: "I identified 'mind control slavery' by satellite energy technology weapons and social engineering programs that have been in continual development for the past 50 years and facilitated their declassification."

Does not sound so bad if you rethink this as DirectTv sattelite transmission and endless reruns of Law and Order: Special Snowflake VIctims Units, does it?

You pretend to worry about the small fraction of a cent it cost each taxpayer to have Massie Monroe on the ballot? Come on, get a life. This is a VERY small price to pay for having something that at least gives the appearance of democracy.

One of my relatives is....well way far left. And while her posts on facebook can be interesting, the posts she comments on sometimes spur even more interesting comments. Yesterday she was bemoaning the hatred a bitter Bernie supporter had towards Hildestank. The bitter Bernie supporter then calmed down a bit and explained how upset he was that without Bernie running, there would be no chance to have UN inspectors monitor US elections and ensure fairness. EL OH FUCKING EL.

Anyway, Larry Elder frequently cites a now decade or more old study wherein around 7% of the US population believed Elvis to be alive....a couple decades after he passed. And that he would receive mail if you sent him something.

Point being theres no shortage of truly crazy people.

Why make a fuss over this idiot, when a global-warming denying birther who's anti-vax is the current Republican nominee?

Jill Stein, in addition to sucking up to anti-vaxxers, believes homeopathic treatments should be funded. Quack.

You'll be pleased to know that Obama, Hillary AND Trump are all equally Zionazi Thugs. So is Ron Paul, who is a 33rd Degree Mason.
And Cecil Rhodes, the famous British Imperialist, practiced Kabalah magic, apparently.

Massie is talking about mind control that is occurring today. We know it as one of the steps in gang stalking. I don't normally post to boards due to the presence of trolls and stalkers out there. Until you've walked in my shoes don't criticize Massie's courageous stance. Electronic harassment has an end goal of total destruction of the individual target socially, financially, medically ending in death by suicide or suspicious circumstances. Its one of the great crimes against humanity and is so unbelievable nobody takes it seriously. This is the great lie or success in convincing the public its not real. The news media paints targeted individuals as demented looser's, in reality they are further along in the program of destruction. I can only suggest you look at Fightgangstalking.com or numerous Youtube sites on the topic. There are many conspiracy theories: CIA, NSA, New world order, Military weapons testing, religious, aliens etc. I was followed by strange cars and people for about 3 years, seemingly at random. I reported it to local police and politicians, red cars by the dozen started following me 24/7. At least 6 local Police agencies, firetrucks and ambulances followed soon after. I wish it was delusional as I see these gang stalkers everywhere. Two years ago after rejection by family, friends I started making videos and voice recordings. A 125 videos later and nobody cares. Each video shows these events that appear to be random, except its every day on every recording. If you go shopping these stalkers are in the streets or behind the counters, look for the red, blue, yellow gang colors and hand signals. Go to places where people have to congregate and watch for hand signals and stalkers. These events follow a script common to targeted individuals. Now I want to complain about the help my government has provided me... they know and deny it, vote them all out..

@Patrick still cannot quote....

The posts expired after 48 hours leaving the question... Did she, didn't she??? Maybe it's just a myth? You know, just in case I should ever decide to run for office in the future. Would hate to be done in by some silly post on Patnet. People reposted it, but you'll have to dig around. Strategist has it in a repost. Z might have it, too, being the Lord of all bewbies for Trump. But I cannot confirm or deny that any such thing ever existed. I hit my head in mid-July; my memory is a little fuzzy from that week.
