If that is really the case, then clearly Trump should go directly to a much higher tariff rate. Plus we have no idea how much is paid for at current exchange rates vs long term contracts that may be hedged.

Yes, there are a lot of factors at play, but saying 100% will be paid by US consumers is just false.
