In 2016 I was interested in him, but was skeptical. I bought into the narrative that he was unhinged, and it worried me. I felt he could get the right things done, like a steamroller, but worried he may cause destruction.

But, CA is so blue that I felt my vote wouldn't matter either way, so didn't vote.

I now strongly support him, and will vote against a tidal wave of "free shit" peddling dems. Even if CA still votes blue, I'd be happy to just see some of the blue / red gap shrink.

That's a no reason for asylum and certainly not to be refugees.

Imagine if Central Americans, who enjoy a standard of living several times better than the 50s-70s, invested their time and effort at home instead of spending it to get to the US and sign up to welfare while working off the books.

Not sure who wayne is, but there's been quite a few high profile cases of conservative speakers being barred from speaking at university in recent years. There's lots of people talking about the extreme liberal bias in colleges, and how that creeps into research and more in a self perpetuating cycle. Talking about how conservative opinions aren't welcome, and are often met with hostility. School faculty is not only complicit, but often participates, or gives into the angry libmob's cries for "right to safety" from a guest bad bad speaker.

One unfortunate problem with the harassment from mainstream media, various SJWs, virtue signalers, and the corrupt deep state is that many people are scared to work for Trump. Thus the pool of potential hires is greatly reduced. Just look at the horrible deal Flynn got: after enough threats from the deep state he was pressured into pleading guilty to lying to the FBI even though the FBI report stated that they didn't think he was lying.
