Back in the earliest days of what would become PatNet, we worried about the housing bubble.

Full disclosure - I was a lurker here since about 2007. It convinced me to not buy a house, and I'm still renting. Kept my powder dry and I've got the liquid asset stockpile - not enough yet, but I was a late starter.

Now, we have more things to worry about:

WWIII
Demographic collapse
Golohomoho

How many of you ever even imagined it would potentially get this bad?

Just to cheer you up, it's supposed to get a lot worse before it gets better. Maybe not yams and face on the barbie bad, but bad.

Gird your loins. The Pandora's Box of spring loaded terrors is here.

Yes, there still needs to be some kind of reckoning for the excessive debt created during the housing bubble and the printing during the scamdemic.

Thanks @Patick - the contrarian route is the road least traveled, and potentially more difficult. My most contrarian bets have fortunately reaped the most rewards. The Fourth Turning is upon us. Let's hope we and our families are all safe and prepared.

I was once chastised by Patrick, for being too confrontational concluding every debate with the Patnet Liberals by calling them commies.
I don't think he would have sent that email today in context to the same discussions.

I'll bitch. I'll moan.

No WWIII in which we're involved in. It's already happening currently, just hasn't been labeled that way.

Not sure your age, but 25-35 year olds are popping out kids like it's Halloween candy.

The homo thing is just that, gay. We're de-globalizing currently. If anything that's good for the US.

I'm generally pessimistic. There are bad things for sure, but we're pretty damn good. Harris will 100% lose. While Trump isn't the best he knows business and will be better for Americans.

I think it's more than the next 4 years. I think we have a decade of growth. Won't be smooth. We have about 4-5 months of a dumpster fire coming up and another 6 months to put it out. Basically a year from now. This is why the House and Senate are most important. Clarence Thomas is nearing death years as well. He should retire and lock in a 20-30 year Justice if R's have the House and Senate.

Way too far in advance, but I don't think Republicans can lose 2028. I think the Democratic party is collapsing with Biden, Obama and Clintons hitting retirement age. I think they're just done. They don't have a torch bearer.

I have 3 family friends/associates who moved to rural locations in the past 5 years. Of those, two are able to be totally self sufficient and are so isolated (like live several miles down dirt roads in super sparsely populated areas) that I don’t think even total societal collapse will reach them. The others live where…I think if the conservatives lost a civil war, that area would be the last vestigages of guerilla warfare.

Point being, if you have the worries you do and think that is the end game, why aren’t you doing the same thing these people did?

Kinda the same as the liberal elite claiming the oceans are rising yet dropping tens of millions on coastal homes. Either you believe it or you don’t, but don’t tell me somethings happening while your actions state otherwise.

I believe there is an everything "bubble"; this is because there are millions of poor who want to become consumers, and millions of working poor who are consumers, and millions of well off who are also consumers. What they buy depends on their level of financial solvency.

I recently drove by a bunch of new condos under construction in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida: Ritz Carleton Residences.
The cheapest unit will cost $4 million. The average will be $6.9 million. A little ways down Hwy 1 is Nautilus 2020, which was a whole lot of units which will cost $1.6 million to $4 million; the place is 85% sold and is under construction.

Meanwhile in Santa Cruz, where I am visiting, everyone I talked to is afraid of how expensive housing has become. My friends who own houses feel a little bit broke and still work, have a tenant, or both, with a few exceptions.

They're scared of how bad things will become if Kamala is able to cheat her way into the White Hiouse.

I think anyone joining PatNet at the very least knows things are fucked up to some degree. I'm just reminiscing about the original PatNet, when all we had to worry about was the fucked-up housing bubble and parasites like Casey Serin.

Hell, even iTulip folded after 2014 because, in the words of EJ,"Functional markets no longer exist; therefore, it's impossible to make any kind of prediction based on macroeconomic factors."

Not sure who this is directed at. I've already done it. I wanted to be rural but not totally naked protection wise on acreage where you're a sitting duck solo style. We have a militia by default in our town of probably 300-500 younger men with guns. Everyone would come together.

Tanks wouldn't even stop us as Oklahoma City style products are readily available to make massive bombs. We have basements so even air attacks would be tricky and cost millions to destroy a single residence. Not sure who's paying for bunker busters on single family dwellings.

On the new build I may actually put in a legit bunker with a sealed door in the basement. Get it about 20' underground (floor). Adds $30-50k at least, but why not, we're already digging. Long term shelf life food. 2-5k gallon fresh water tank. Brewing supplies. Maybe 50 handles of vodka for the wife. I don't think Starlink would work with 10' of earth above us, but that might work.

I'm not really a prepper, but I wouldn't mind being more prepared. I'm in the safe zone. Byron, IL with their nukes would be the only concern. They're an hour away from where I am. Zion, IL nuke would blow over lake Michigan. All the other nukes are too far south for the fallout. No one is nuking Chicago, the blacks do that on their own. So I'm safe in that regards. Logistics would just be majorly fucked up. Hence the prepping temptation.

Correct. But who do they have on the bench? We're talking Harris/Walz right now. They could have replaced her and eaten the DEI bullshit they would have gotten. THERE IS NO ONE ELSE. Who in the hell in this country would want to run Democrat? No one. There is no one. RFK Jr. was closest and they booted him (I don't like him).

Dems are in a generational shit hole right now. Hillary, the apparent queen to the throne lost to a celebrity real estate mogul that grabs women by the pussy. A senile old fart had to cheat to win with no support. That was the last effort. The party is done. 2024 will go down in history. Dems won't get control of any of the 3 branches for at least a decade. Maybe even 30 years if I'm being bold.

Trump will live to 100 if he truly doesn't drink or do drugs. He's got another 20 years in the bag. He's a freak. He will have influence like no past president ever. No one cares about Obama and he just wants to be in his shell. Trump will dish it out until they put him in the coffin. Bush paints... great. Clinton fucks kids but has no influence anymore. Biden will just hide after his stint as POTUS.

Trump is a Reagan Republican. Probably the last solid POTUS in 40 years. The rest have been trash balls of cunt.

JD is kind of growing on me. I don't think Desantis has it. Don't mind him. His personality is just kind of eh? Definitely not winning over women or alpha males. 20 points there. Just glad either way that there's tools in the tool box versus Dems which have zilch. There's literally no one on the Dem bench. It's bad.

The Democrat party isn't collapsing, it has transformed into America's Marxist party institution. The sad part is 80% of the voters are sticking with it, because the propaganda media has them programmed to view politics like team sports. People don't abandon the sports team even when they are at their worst.

Wrong. I don't usually call you out like this, but that's bull shit. I stopped watching the Chicago Bears about 8-9 years ago. Haven't watched a full game since and won't ever again. There's more of us like this out there. It's why fantasy leagues got so big and gambling. It's all fixed. Being a fan is over unless you're a retard. Going to a game with a family of 4 and likely dropping $1k in a day? Fuck that.

I can get a happy ending massage for $100 and the wife wouldn't care. 60 minutes later a good massage and cum blasting. Or sit at a stadium and drop $1k on a fixed game. Or I could just have sex with the wife at home. Many options to choose from that are better than sports is all.

The Dem party is for sure done for the foreseeable future. Call it Marxist. No one will bite. Rand/Ron Paul would have been great choices. No different. Dems/left have literally nothing on the bench for a neoliberal candidate. Michael Obama would maybe be the only one. I think he's done with any politics. The recent Dem legacy is over as seen with Biden/Harris.

Absolutely correct, people choose a political party like a sports fan chooses a team. It does not matter that the Dems have no one on the bench, as they can always conjure up an unknown and make him/her popular. Jimmy Carter was unknown nationally before he ran for President. Kamala was not on anyone's radar even a week before Biden made that play and selected her. The post Kamala/Walz candidates will be some nationally unknown Dem such as the current PA governor if DEI is dead by then, or another minority if DEI is still pushed.
