Ah, the small-government conservatives are here, pointing out the virtues of ass-penetrating police power as long as it's used on other people.
This alone is why the war on drugs should be ended and all powers of searching people removed.
the spice must flow.. because Dan needs his "daily" pick up..
The swallower then attempts to cross international borders, excrete the balloons, and then sell the drugs for profit. It is far more common for the swallower to be making the trip on behalf of a drug lord or drug dealer. Swallowers are often impoverished and agree to transport the drugs in exchange for money or other favors. In fewer cases, the drug dealers can attempt extortion against people by threatening physical harm against friends or family, but the more common practice is for swallowers to willingly accept the job in exchange for big payoffs. An increasingly popular type of swallowing involves having the drug in the form of liquid-filled balloons or condoms/packages. These are impossible to detect unless the airport has high-sensitivity X-Ray equipment. Most of the major airports in Europe, Canada, and the US have these machines. Note that a liquid mixture of water and the drug will most likely not be detected using a standard X-Ray Machine. As reported in Lost Rights by James Bovard: "Nigerian drug lords have employed an army of 'swallowers', those who will swallow as many as 150 balloons and smuggle drugs into the United States. Given the per capita yearly income of Nigeria is $2,100, Nigerians can collect as much as $15,000 per trip."

How else do you deal with Mules.. how low will you sink to be Mule sticking drugs up
your ass for dollar?
Another Mule busted....seems many here would side with the smugglers.
Is there no subject that you won't take the daffy side on and defend it to a lunatic extreme?
Hmm
No one seems concerned at all that this "news report" reads exactly like a plaintiffs filing.
100% certain the incident did not happen as described in the article. Most likely relevant information is intentionally left out.
No matter even if its true..
Mule Smuggling is very common and rampant on the border. Remarkable how many so called "liberals" are concerned about Ass raping as Billion in Drugs from Mexican mafia are being smuggled into USA.
You gotta wonder how many of these people would rather doped up ... i doubt they really are concerned about someones rights or such. The spice must flow.
The war on drugs has failed: all controlled substances are far cheaper now than three decades ago.
The answer is not more and better cavity searches, and even more power for those sexy policemen authoritarians worship so much.
The answer is to stop.

Drug smugglers using Mules ? no.. i am not defending them at all.. but for you the ends justify what ever means.

NAFTA bad....
Drugs good...
meanwhile in the UK....
"in 2003, over 50% of foreign females in UK jails were drug mules from Jamaica. Nigerian women make a large contribution to the remaining figure. In all, around 18% of the UK's female jail population are foreigners, 60% of which are serving sentences for drug-related offences–most of them drug mules."

Drug 'mule' aged 12
by DANIEL JEFFREYS, Daily Mail
A boy of 12 who flew thousands of miles carrying heroin worth £700,000 in his stomach was recovering in hospital last night after surgeons removed the containers.
Police in New York said the boy, a U.S. citizen who had been living with grandparents in Nigeria, is one of the youngest drug 'mules' they have ever seen.
He was only caught because his body began to pass the condoms the drug was hidden in while he was in a taxi.
Doctors who removed the remaining 'packages' from his colon said he would have died if one had burst.
Police said the boy, Prince Nnaedozie Umegbolu, made the dangerous journey because he wanted to see his mother, who lives in Atlanta, Georgia. He was to be paid £1,200.
His father, Chukwunwieke Umegbolu, is in prison in Virginia for drugsmuggling.
The boy's journey began in Nigeria where drug smugglers gave him the condoms to swallow.
He then travelled alone to London by Air Nigeria before flying on to New York by British Airways.
At JFK airport, a BA official helped him find a taxi, which took him to an address in Brooklyn, but no one was there to meet him.
Taxi driver Ronald Manning said Umegbolu then asked to be taken to La Guardia, New York's domestic airport, where he said he had arranged to meet a woman in the Delta Airlines terminal.

He doesn't even understand the question, let alone have the reading comprehension to know when he's being set up to act the fool.
Lol this has nothing to do with my Libertarian views. If I was dictator for life, drugs would have been decriminalized 2 decades ago.
The news article is bullshit on some level. That's my dispute. While I often agree with Mr. Wong, I do not on this issue(nor on the NSA/Snowden stuff).
You on the other hand Mr. Cabron, have a really twisted take on authority/police issues. I really do despise corrupt cops. And I am glad when they are caught and their lives are ruined. But the bad guys lie a lot. Most of the time. And so do money hungry people who file lawsuits. So when this sort of thing happens, rather than choose a side, I'm far more likely to sit back and see what investigations discover before I pass judgement.
In short...criminals lie nearly all the time. Only some cops lie, and only some of the time. This is not a bias. It's what the circumstances describe. I'm truly happy that video recording has become so prevalent. It exposes lying cops, while also demonstrating that the vast majority of arrests are factually justified.
I'll hold off on judgement in the matter in this article until more facts come forward.
I say make them pay for the enemas...
16 arrested in Pennsylvania "drug mule" investigation
SHAMOKIN, Pa. - September 19, 2013 (WPVI) -- A total of 16 suspected drug dealers have been arrested following an investigation in the distribution of cocaine and heroin from the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico.
Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen Kane announced the results of the investigation on Thursday, which began in the summer of 2012.
Kane said the case focused on "an international trafficking organization that stretched from the Dominican Republic to New York City and then to Luzerne and Northumberland counties."
Citing a grand jury, Kane said Juan Carlos Alvarez, from the Dominican Republic, had supplied local users and dealers with bulk quantities of heroin and cocaine since at least 2008.
The associates in this case were allegedly hired to be "drug mules" and paid $10,000 to swallow balloons filed with large quantities of cocaine and heroin, which was then trafficked into New York City via international airlines.
The heroin and cocaine were then distributed in the New York City area and throughout northeastern and central Pennsylvania.
Agents estimate that during the course of the investigation the organization was responsible for distributing at least $2 million worth of cocaine and heroin, Kane said.
That's my dispute. While I often agree with Mr. Wong, I do not on this issue(nor on the NSA/Snowden stuff).
fair enough...
Unbelievably, there are people who are not conservatives, yet who both:
(a) Have a job
- and -
(b) Rarely drink, and use nothing more potent than ibuprofen
Yes, it's true! Astound and amaze your little right-wing kids!
Bonus points for conservatives who leave the house and look around outside occasionally.

Even a casual analysis of your commentary on this site would lead a law-enforcement observer to conclude that you have consumed many varieties of hard drugs, and over an extended period of time.
Since you are not homeless - your posting times extend far beyond public library hours - there is reasonable suspicion to believe you are a man of some leisure and financial means, which, given your mental faculties and the awful battering that opiates and hallucinogens have administered to your brain, indicates that you are possibly a drug dealer.
Put more simply: probable cause.
Do you support the grant of a warrant for your colonoscopy?
Dodgerdumbfuck, the case is going to court. Dont you think a hospital is going to have a record of such things??

I think perhaps thomaswrong wasn't dropped on his head, he was thrown at the wall.
Yes, travel to New Mexico if you want to satisfy your medical kink. A lame version of that would run you at least 3 grand in San Francisco.
Ha ha, mule yeah right. The dude wasn't crossing a border, he was leaving the parking lot of a big box store in the county he lived in.

Yeah, they love to invert the small-government meme whenever it comes to body cavities. They have a thing for vaginas too.
Yeah, and with this they are very close to the democrats/progressives, hence one party system. As Obama and the democrats have shown they have no problem with going along with the meme of criminalizing marijuana (more than Bush who left the states alone). Where democrats/progressives use big government to rob you of your money and monetary choices because they claim to know how to better use it, a lot of republicans use it to for ass-penetrating police power perpetuating a failed war on drugs, the patriot act etc. claiming they know what's best and worst for your body (often against overwhelming proof of medical research). That only leaves you with voting libertarian for a consistent defense against erosion of civil liberties and personal freedom as well a consistent defense against overregulation, overtaxation, and political correctness. Long live the second party! ;)

Yes yes yes. Should be medical documents, etc etc. But those aren't on the record yet nor is the context, nor is any other relevant evidence, testimony, etc. Hence my original point stands. The statements of supposed "fact" contained in the linked article read exactly like a plaintiffs filing.
You know, for someone who is a self proclaimed genius, for someone who graduated with an degree in mathmatics(the very basis of logic), for someone who teaches 13th grade math...heck even chairs the math department of said 13th grade school, Roberto Ribas makes the most terrible illogical statements in the universe. For someone who arrogantly calls others various curse words, and derides others for their supposed lack of intellect, you would think that Roberto Ribas himself would be able to exercise the most basic of logic.
Roberto Ribas, you should probably just go back to attempting to demonstrate your penis size to your students. I'm sure the ladies love that.
The same K-9 dog, Leo, sniffed drugs on his seat, causing police to seek a warrant to search Young’s body for illegal substances."
K-9 Dogs can be trained to "False Alert" based on signals / expectations from the handler.
Barry Cooper, a former Texas police officer who has worked with police dogs, told Raw Story that use of canines has “gone out of control in America. They’re using dogs as an excuse to search cars when people refuse consent. The reason it’s like this is because the dogs aren’t always really alerting: it’s actually the cops using those dogs to trample our rights as citizens.â€
Cooper said he was recently hired to assess an Arizona police dog handler’s record. “Out of 50 traffic stops, the canine reportedly alerted on every car but four. Drugs were only found on six occasions,†he said.
Lawrence Myers, an Auburn University professor who studies police dogs, told the Tribune that residue from long-gone drugs isn’t the only way a dog can give a false positive. Dog handlers can trigger a false positive from a dog by walking it around a car too many times, or too slowly, giving the dog a cue that a certain behavior is expected.
Interestingly...
Cooper told Raw Story that part of the problem stems from a lack of standards for police dogs. “There is no standardized test for these dogs. Anybody could open up tomorrow and start selling dogs to cops.â€

Probable cause? We don't need no stinking probable cause.
He has had contact with the all-pervasive "justice" system?
Under the Patriot Act's Sneak and Peak they can probably install covert video surveillance in Mr. Eckert's rectum.
To keep us safe.
Turns out Eckert had filed a lawsuit against Deming police related to a previous encounter. So this was likely retribution.
In the good old days the cops just beat your ass……

How is it that someone who had 2 enema's and a colonoscopy without showing up anything is a criminal? Don't you have to have a trial and conviction and all that sorts of stuff?

You really can't be this dumb. There are all different eckerts on your list, which one is the right one?
WOW. HOLY SHIT. These cops definitely had it out for Eckert.
The complaint lists multiple incidents were Eckert is being stopped. Within sight of his house for a "Chipped Windshield". Then, after he asks the officer if he's free to go - AND THE OFFICER SAYS "YES" - the officer keeps barking questions at him, and impounds the car on suspicion of drugs.
Apparently, a cop can tell somebody they're free to go, and then in the next breath claim probable cause to search their possessions. Seems to two are mutually exclusive - if you're free to go, doesn't that mean the cop no longer considers you suspicious?
A few months later, he stopped by a cop who did not witness a traffic violation but was told by another cop to stop Eckert's car, on the basis of not stopping at a stop sign.
This is the anal cavity search. They received a warrant from a judge in Luna County. Emphasized because it's important to the story.
When they took him to Luna County's Deming Hospital, Dr. Ash, the attending physician, refused to search Eckert's anal cavity on the grounds that it was unethical and medically unnecessary.
They then took Eckert toanother facility in a different County, Grant County, which is outside their jurisdiction and outside the jurisdiction where the warrant was issued, Gila Medical Center, where they found a "Cooperative" Physician.
The cooperative Physician CT scanned multiple parts of Eckert's body. When the cops insisted on an anal search, he recommended a CT scan of Eckert's anus. The cops INSISTED on a digital cavity search against the Dr's recommendation. In other words, they wanted to inflict maximum discomfort - torture even - despite the CT machine being already used and available and even better than a cavity search.
I say that because the anal cavity search was only the beginning. After his digital cavity search revealed nothing, he was forced to have THREE ENEMAS (which I think is medically dangerous in such a short timeframe) then a COLONOSCOPY. Bty this time, not only was the warrant exercised outside their jurisdiction, the time limit for executing it had expired.
This is really a gang anal rape by proxy - and, at the request of police, the Plaintiff is receiving bills for his "Treatment" at the Hospital. No, I'm not joking:
104. Through the Gila Regional Medical Center visit, Defendants Chavez and Hernandez did harass, mock and berate Plaintiff by making derogatory remarks about Plaintiff and his compromised position. 105. During Plaintiff’s illegal cavity searches, Defendants Chavez and Hernandez did continually
misplace Plaintiff’s privacy curtain exposing him to the public hallway during the
intimate and humiliating searches.
106. During the course of Plaintiff’s Gila Regional Medical Center visit, Plaintiff was digitally penetrated in the rectum twice by two different doctors, he received a total of three enemas, had his body x-rayed twice, was involuntarily placed under anesthesia, and had a tube inserted through his rectum into his large intestine.
107.Defendant Gila Regional has billed Plaintiff for the “services†it provided at the request
of law enforcement.
108. Plaintiff still receives medical bills for thousands of dollars for these illegal, invasive and painful medical procedures.
109. Defendant Officers intentionally or recklessly humiliated Plaintiff Eckert by orchestrating anal probing and multiple invasions of his body, including the insertion of a scope up his rectum, into the recto sigmoid, descending colon, his transverse colon, ascending colon and into the cecum without any probable cause to believe that Plaintiff had inserted any foreign body into his rectum or had swallowed any contraband and despite conducting eight previous illegal searches which were all fruitless.
I don't have time to finish reading, but Eckert's gonna be a millionaire, but sadly the taxpayer will pay for the cops' Nazi Tactics. Betcha all or most of the cops get some stupid discplinary shit and keep their jobs.

Accused Officer Orosco promoted just months after assault, to Police Captain. Replacing Gigante, who became Police Chief and is the current Chief of Demming, NM.

Which, as everyone knows, means its open season on the man's bottom. Anyone who has ever been arrested for drugs is fair game for a closeted gay cop to act out his sadistic fantasies on...
You know, at some point after the third enema while discussing the next step of sedating the suspect and using a colonoscope to look beyond the anal cavity into the large intestines, it really ought to have occurred to someone that things had gone too far
ANOTHER SIMILAR CASE IN NM
Timothy Young is taken to the same Gila Medical Center - and the same Dog (and likely, same Handler) - and also outside the jurisdiction of the cops, and also after a routine traffic stop, this one for not using a blinker when turning.
Our investigation reveals another chapter. Another man, another minor traffic violation, another incident with Leo the K-9 and another example of the violation of a man's body.
Police reports state deputies stopped Timothy Young because he turned without putting his blinker on.
Again, Leo the K-9 alerts on Young's seat.
Young is taken to the Gila Regional Medical Center in Silver City, and just like Eckert, he's subjected to medical procedures including x-rays of his stomach and an anal exam.
Again, police found nothing, and again the procedures were done without consent, and in a county not covered by the search warrant.
We've learned more about that drug dog, Leo, that seems to get it wrong pretty often. He might be getting it wrong because he's not even certified in New Mexico.
If you take a look at the dog's certification, the dog did get trained. But his certification to be a drug dog expired in April 2011. K-9s need yearly re-certification courses, and Leo is falling behind.
"We have done public requests to find anything that would show this dog has been trained, we have evidence that this dog has had false alerts in the past," Eckert's attorney Shannon Kennedy said.
The doctors from the Gila Regional Medical Center have been turned over to the state licensing board. It's possible they could lose the ability to practice medicine.
And the police officers will be answering to a law enforcement board.
Get this: The Deputy District Attorney told the cops to go from the Demming Hospital to the Gila Medical Center.
According to Officer Chavez' report:
http://www.popehat.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/Eckert-Police-Report.pdf
And the Deputy DA signed the Warrant:
http://www.popehat.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/Officer-Robert-Chavez-Statement.pdf
Somebody explain to me how the Deputy DA can recommend a warrant based on such flimsy evidence, and a judge sign it? And then, the Deputy DA advises the cop to take the suspect outside the jurisdiction of the warrant. Real sloppy in NM.
Oh man, Eckert is gonna be RICH!
This will be fun to see all the special interests align to defend their members. Will the doctors have their licenses revoked (very possibly)? Will the DDA be disbarred (highly unlikely)? Will the cops be charged with crimes (almost certainly not)?
If you want to get away with shit, be a lawyer or a cop.
I can't help but think of that scene from office space.
Would you take a few enemas and a colonoscopy by the Drug Thug Patrol and cronies for a few million?
By the way, Eckert is a 63-year old scrap dealer.
Maybe he gave one of the officer's cousins a hard time when they were trying to sell copper pipe out of an abandoned Mondo Condo?
I learned from my time spent with a guy that trained police dogs for years, the dog is only as useful as his handler allows for him to be, so obviously these POS worthless roid tards that litter our police state rolls would suggest, the dogs are usually worse then useless
Oh man, Eckert is gonna be RICH!
Paid out by the tax victims of Luna County.
Thanks to the Qualified Immunity Doctrine the cops rarely suffer personally, no matter how egregious their acts.

10 Unbelievable Prison Smuggling Stories
The inmate who had condom stuffed with 30 items crammed up his anus
Florida prison officials found 17 Oxycodone pills, 1 cigarette, 6 matches, 1 flint, 1 empty syringe with an eraser over the needle part, 1 lip balm container, 1 condom, 1 CVS receipt, and a coupon ... in Neil Lansing's, 34, rectum.
A 500-lb. inmate at a Texas prison was able to sneak a gun past prison guards after cleverly using his fat flab to his advantage. George Vera smuggled an unloaded 9mm pistol past several frisks and searches by wedging the gun between his fat folds.
A Mexican prison gang all got caught hiding cell phones inside their backsides. Guards were tipped off by one of the gang member's mother who complained to them that her son couldn't get good reception in his cell. After not finding any cell phones in their bunks, they had them all x-rayed, where they found the devices neatly packed away. No wonder her son had crappy reception.
The arrested man who had a gun hidden in his rectum
Michael Leon Ward from North Carolina was arrested and apparently stashed a .38 barrel revolver in his rectum. According to police, the unloaded 10-inch weapon was not discovered until after the suspect had been booked into a cell in the county jail and had a thorough strip search. Thankfully the gun was unloaded.

The state which exists to make Arizona feel better about itself.
http://www.kob.com/article/stories/S3209305.shtml?cat=500#.Unm_0DK9KK2
The incident began January 2, 2013 after David Eckert finished shopping at the Wal-Mart in Deming. According to a federal lawsuit, Eckert didn't make a complete stop at a stop sign coming out of the parking lot and was immediately stopped by law enforcement...
after law enforcement asked him to step out of the vehicle, he appeared to be clenching his buttocks. Law enforcement thought that was probable cause to suspect that Eckert was hiding narcotics in his anal cavity....
1. Eckert's abdominal area was x-rayed; no narcotics were found.
2. Doctors then performed an exam of Eckert's anus with their fingers; no narcotics were found.
3. Doctors performed a second exam of Eckert's anus with their fingers; no narcotics were found.
4. Doctors penetrated Eckert's anus to insert an enema. Eckert was forced to defecate in front of doctors and police officers. Eckert watched as doctors searched his stool. No narcotics were found.
5. Doctors penetrated Eckert's anus to insert an enema a second time. Eckert was forced to defecate in front of doctors and police officers. Eckert watched as doctors searched his stool. No narcotics were found.
6. Doctors penetrated Eckert's anus to insert an enema a third time. Eckert was forced to defecate in front of doctors and police officers. Eckert watched as doctors searched his stool. No narcotics were found.
7. Doctors then x-rayed Eckert again; no narcotics were found.
8. Doctors prepared Eckert for surgery, sedated him, and then performed a colonoscopy where a scope with a camera was inserted into Eckert's anus, rectum, colon, and large intestines. No narcotics were found.
Throughout this ordeal, Eckert protested and never gave doctors at the Gila Regional Medical Center consent to perform any of these medical procedures.
