Looks like another 500+ Ukrainian draftees were destroyed yesterday, I wonder how long they can keep this up.

Maybe, but they killed 1500+ Ruscist conscripts and destroyed/captured 200 tanks so the attrition rate is heavily in the Ukie favor.

If mobilizing and throwing in 300,000 poorly-equipped conscripts as cannon fodder was part of the plan, why wasn't it done before starting the SCHMO? And if it wasn't, doesn't it mean that the SCHMO is not going as planned?

Let's see some pretzels!

Nope, it ain't going as planned. Putin had hoped to have a puppet government in Kiev. He did not want to acquire territory. The Ukies fought back instead of surrendering so now he is acquiring buffer territory by annexing parts of Ukraine into Russia. I understand the locals in the 4 areas are holding referendums over the next week to vote on becoming part of Russia. According to UN charter this is permissible (we did the same thing with respect to Kosovo). If this goes according to plan, then any attack on these newly acquired territories would constitute a direct attack on Russia itself. Putin said something about possibly using nukes to defend Russia's territorial integrity, but he has lied in the past so we will see what happens.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) — Two U.S. military veterans who disappeared while fighting Russia with Ukrainian forces have been released after about three months in captivity, relatives said Wednesday.

Alex Drueke, 39, and Andy Huynh, 27, went missing after their unit came under heavy fire in the Kharkiv region of northeastern Ukraine near the Russian border June 9. Both had traveled to Ukraine on their own and became friends because both are from Alabama.

The families announced their release in a joint statement from Dianna Shaw, an aunt of Drueke.

“They are safely in the custody of the U.S. embassy in Saudi Arabia and after medical checks and debriefing they will return to the states,” the statement said.

The Saudi embassy released a statement saying it had mediated the release of 10 prisoners from Morocco, the United States, the United Kingdom, Sweden and Croatia, but there wasn’t any immediate confirmation on whether Drueke and Huynh were part of the group.

Fatalities on the Ukrainian side are ten times higher, with 61,207 Kiev troops killed

"10 to 1 is not good enough, it should be at least 100 to 1 like when US forces illegaly invade other countries."

PS. So, let's recoup, Russia lost only 6,000 troops but needs to conscript 300,000? Why bother if everything works so swimmingly as is? And why did brave Ruscist troops clear out of thousands of square miles in less than a week? Tired of all that killing, I guess?

He did not want to acquire territory.

Bzzzt, wrong: he said many times, including last night, that he wants to annex a piece of Ukraine. So he did want and still wants to acquire territory. It's just he's now doing negative acquisition, that's all.

within the last three weeks Kiev had lost in total more than 7,000 service members killed and 970 weapon units neutralized, including 208 tanks, 245 APCs and 186 other armored military vehicles, as well as 15 military planes.

Everything we are told is given to us by a government that lied about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, lied about Qaddafi causing a humanitarian crisis in Libya, lied about Assad gassing his own citizens, and lied about not overthrowing Ukraine in a coup.

We've had the Ghost of "Kyiv", the massacre on Snake Island, a Massacre in Mariopol that wasn't done by the Russians - it's so weird to me people still believe this fucking lying government and it's pathetic propaganda media.

What are you talking about?

Did we find a weapons of mass destruction program in Iraq yet?

Stop thinking like a child. I'm so sick of it. You insist on a false dichotomy. You realize, that if Iraq's government lies, doesn't mean that the US government tells the truth, don't you?

You realize that if Ukraine's puppet US government lies, doesn't mean that Russia's government tells the truth, don't you?

Grow up.

It seems to me Russia just has to keep the war going, and win through attrition, as Europe freezes to death this winter. That's likely what they do. This war is going to drag on forever now. Even if Ukraine now gives into all the demands of Russia, Russia isn't going to stop.
1568   Misc   2022 Sep 21, 6:00pm

People within Ukraine that would like to come to terms with the Russians are targeted by our CIA (sometimes with missile strikes). The conflict is not popular in the Ukraine, but the opposing political party was disbanded and those vocalizing dissent are put in prison at best. It is a full on dictatorship.

We in the West hear about the 1000 people arrested for protesting the Russian mobilization, but we hear nothing about the arrests, closing down any opposing media and full on Big Brother activity of Zelensky.

When the Special Operation was initiated, Putin had no intention of occupying the Ukraine. He attacked with about 190000 personnel. For a country with Ukraine's population, it would take a force of about 1 million to occupy it. No, he wanted a puppet government in Kiev. He ain't gonna get that anytime soon, so he is annexing territory using the same type of referendums we used for Kosovo (let the people in the area vote to see if they wanna be part of Russia). He figures that if it is Russia territory the attacks from Ukraine will stop because Putin says he will use nukes. Putin has been known to lie on occasion, but with the systems Russia has in place if Russian territory is nuked I think the West backs down.

I doubt they need that. Russia's performance is unimpressive, regardless of there being Western Mercs probably doing 90% of the work and the Ukrainian conscripts merely doing positional warfare.

Where are the French and German and Italian troops? Much shorter transport and logistics line.

That's the point. Russia isn't interested in forcing a win and end up losing through incompetence. Unless people rise up and fire putin the situation hurts Europe more than Russia. Sure some oligarchs are fucked but the common people aren't. Russia can simply do deals with the East, plenty of energy hungry developing countries. Europe doesn't want to commit troops and lose lives as their "leaders" are already totally hated by the people. And xiden keeps shuffling hard earned American taxpayer money into corrupt Ukraine to cover for hunter, nuland et al and all their corrupt dealings and meddling.

there is a risk that the conflict would escalate into an all-out war between Russia and Europe, which could spiral out of control

In order for Europe to engage in a conventional war with Russia, they would have to get an alternative energy supply.

Europe should have LONG AGO, worked to make better relations with Russia and drop their alignment with the United States. The US should have also fostered better relations with Russia and dropped their alignment with Europe.

Remember, the whole bullshit about the Cold War was about the supposed evil of the USSR - well, the USSR is dead - so we know the enmity between the US / Europe and Russia had nothing to do with communism. It has nothing to do with human rights, it has nothing to do with democracy or self-determination.

Look at US and European relations with China. They don't give a shit about freedom, or self determination at all. We've been lied to our entire lives. Our government had made Russia an enemy for some reason, and they just make up the shit they think we want to hear to justify them as enemies. Oh, we're all mad that Russia is bombing Ukraine, Americans don't give a shit about that. The US government has been bombing tons of nations, who cares? None of the "liberals" do, they didn't give a fuck when Obomba brought back slavery to Libya, or fucking blew up Somalia or Syria. They cheered it on.

Let us agree that the place called Ukraine was never any of America’s business. For centuries we ignored it, through all the colorful cavalry charges to-and-fro of Turks and Tatars, the reign of the dashing Zaporozhian Cossacks, the cruel abuses of Stalin, then Hitler, and the dull, gray Khrushchev-to-Yeltsin years. But then, having destroyed Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Somalia and sundry other places all on a great hegemonic lark, the professional warmongers of our land and their catamites in Washington made Ukraine their next special project. They engineered the 2014 coup in Kiev that ousted the elected president, Mr. Yanyukovich, to set up a giant grifting parlor and international money-laundromat. The other strategic aim was to prepare Ukraine for NATO membership, which would have made it, in effect, a forward missile base right up against Russia’s border. Because, well, Russia, Russia, Russia!

An early beneficiary of these arrangements, you might recall, was one Hunter Biden, the drug-addicted, sex-obsessed, no-account son of Barack Obama’s no-account vice-president then known simply as Joe Biden sans quote-marks — because in 2014, he was a closer approximation of a real person than is sadly now the case. In fact, he was known as “The Big Guy” among Hunter’s business coterie (though listed as “Pedo Peter” on Hunter’s speed-dial). After the 2014 coup, and for years beyond, Hunter pulled a steady revenue stream out of Ukraine’s Burisma Holdings, a natgas distributor (among other things), serving as a know-nothing, no-show board member. When this monkey business came to the attention of President Trump, and he made a telephone inquiry about it, he was instantly beset by swarms of DC swamp vermin hoisting writs of impeachment.

Fast forward through the past eight years and you have Kiev’s persecution of the Russian-speaking Donbas provinces, the constant shelling and harassment by Banderite Nazis. Between that and the ever more strident urgings for Ukraine to join NATO, President Putin of Russia, Russia, Russia apparently had enough. In February of this year, he started the Special Military Operation to put an end to these hostilities. By April, when whole battalions of Ukrainian Nazis had been exterminated, a call to peace talks was issued by Mr. Lavrov, the Russian foreign minister. This was shot-down without ceremony by “Joe Biden” (that is, by the junta behind him). The genius strategists in Foggy Bottom aimed to “weaken” Russia. To what end? (you might ask). Okay: Reasons….

Hence, many hard-fought battles on-the-ground later, Ukraine has lost roughly 70,000 troops killed to Russia’s roughly 6,000 KIA. The USA pours $10-billion-a-month into this venture, including missiles aplenty and other ordnance, in a stupid effort to prolong the conflict and bankrupt our own land. Thus, Mr. Putin has decided to stop pussyfooting around Ukraine, and declared an upgrade in Russia’s effort to put a conclusive end to these shenanigans. He set this forth clearly in a sober speech Wednesday, which included a reminder to the geniuses in the White House basement game room that Russia is a nuclear power.

“Joe Biden” (looking like the ghost of Konstantin Chernenko) answered in a speech to the UN General Assembly the next day, a maundering recitation of sanctimonious bluster, larded with climate hysteria to alarm and bamboozle the UN’s scores of Third World delegates, with not a word about any possible peace talks — because peaceful resolution of the conflict is the last thing that our government wants. It wants war, meaning we citizens of this land will get it, good and hard, if the puppeteers working “Joe Biden’s” mouth get their way. Prepare to live in an ashtray.

Kunstler loses all credibility by aping Russian propaganda like this.

If Russia really only had 6,000 KIA - why have they lost so much territory, emptying their prisons and now calling up a draft for new troops?

Does it make any logical sense to you?
1575   Patrick   2022 Sep 23, 4:49pm

I'm quoting Kunstler there.

Why would you believe that Russia is emptying prisons? If you heard that from the corporate-media/weapons-maker crowd, you know it's not worth believing.

Personally, I have no idea how many were killed on either side. It's impossible to know from here. "The first casualty of war is truth."

But Kunstler is a pretty smart guy, so I wouldn't bet on him being wrong.

Putin was ‘Pushed’ to Try to ‘Replace the Zelensky Govt with Decent People’ – Berlusconi

Former Italian prime minister Silvio Berlusconi has courted controversy on the eve of the Italian elections by saying that Russian president Vladimir Putin was “pushed” into war with Ukraine.

“Putin was pushed by the Russian population, by his party and by his ministers to invent this special operation,” the three-time Italian premier claimed on Italian television, in comments quoted by the BBC.

“The troops were supposed to enter, reach Kyiv in a week, replace the Zelensky government with decent people and a week later come back,” he claimed — an implied criticism of Volodymyr Zelensky which may prove to be the most controversial part of his statement.

“Instead they found an unexpected resistance, which was then fed by arms of all kinds from the West,” he added.

I don't get it, you're probably not 20, and if you're over 40, you've seen how ceaselessly our government lies about war. Why do you believe anything you hear? How many times do these fucking fuckers fucking have to fucking lie to you before you think "maybe these fucking fuckers are fucking lying to me, AGAIN"?

They haven't told the truth about ANY of the wars they've been in since 2000, and probably before, and definitely not before in some instances. It's exhausting to go through all the lies to deconstruct. It's so common, I just assume they are lying until it's demonstrated otherwise. I ASSUME they lied us into Bosnia and Grenada, because they always lie, they lied about Vietnam and the Gulf of Tonkin Incident.

I made 3 basic claims that I don't think anyone disputes:

- Russia admits it lost territory they initially captured around Kyiv. Russia also admit they just lost territory from the recent Ukrainian offensive in Kharkiv.
- Russia announces to the whole world they are calling up a draft and mobilizing 300,000 additional soldiers
- Russia admits they are recruiting from prisons - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ufOVEKwY2sw

Putin just fired another top general. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-63021117 None of this is secret or "fake news".

Taking all of these things together, I just think it is highly dubious to ape Russia death statistics like Kunstler just did, let alone claim that Russia is "winning" this thing with all of these new definitions of winning we are getting from Putin's defenders.

It would be like taking China's COVID death statistics at face value.

THAT'S from the telegraph. Apparently sound can travel through a vacuum now.

I have said multiple times, I don't give a FUCK about what stupid fucking bullshit western "news" claims. They falsify shit, constantly. Constantly. Constantly. And you're still like "duh, I read it in the Telegraph".

Who gives a fuck? Our propaganda lies about this war, constantly, unendingly, all the fucking time. Obviously, transparently.

I can start out explaining why it's not credible, and gently guide you along, but I've been doing that for YEARS here, and you're still falling for it. You're hopeless. You want to believe this stupid fucking poppycock after it's been REPEATEDLY demonstrated to be "unreliable" (being charitable) - whatever. Be fucking stupid, I don't care.

Russia has over a MILLION people in their military. They've committed less than 200,000 to begin with, and Ukraine's military is 500,000 people. They aren't even fucking trying, they didn't even start with that.

There's a point where I just don't care if you still are stupid enough to believe nonsense. I just don't care.

You are reading propaganda, let me be as fucking blunt as that. What is going on in Ukraine? I don't know. I just know our media lies about it, bunch of people are being killed stupidly, the war was easily avoidable, and it wouldn't have happened if the US didn't overthrow Ukraine in 2014.

I know that Russia has the advantage in time as well, and Europe does not, and this really isn't a war between Russia and Ukraine, but really a war between the US and Russia.

I am so fucking sick of people pointing to a PROVEN propaganda source and demanding me to believe it. I am so fucking tired of this. I have encountered stupidity, REAL stupidity, very rarely. I don't believe you're stupid, snap out of your programming. Stupid people are truly rare. We have direct access to information now, we have the ability to link to anything, we have translation tools. Why doesn't our "news" point to sources? Because they're lying, OBVIOUSLY.
