I'm pretty sure Trump was just in full salesman mode, flattering up the marks is par for the course. Maybe he wants to do a reset a la Hillary Clinton with Pakistan, making it clear to them from the start that he considers their diplomatic relationship a new beginning. This doesn't mean he plans to give away the farm like Bush II and Obama did, pouring billions in foreign "aid" to The Pakistani government in a futile attempt to sway them to stop the Taliban. They were never going to do this because: a)stopping the Taliban was unpopular and b)the US kept giving them money to not stop the Taliban. Duh!
I think a Trump will be a much better negotiator.

Trump is a salesman. Some might compare this to a con man but this is incorrect. A salesman tries to sell a product or service. A con man just tries to get the money for nothing. The United States has much to offer, but thanks to idealogues being in charge for decades, we haven't made nearly as many or as good of deals as we're possible. For example, we should be trading with the whole world, as much as possible while protecting our patents and production as much as possible.
Obama is the opposite of Trump. He will walk away from a deal because he doesn't like the politics of the other guy. That's like a car salesman turning away a cash customer because he's a mortician and that's distasteful to the salesman. That salesman would get fired the minute his boss learned about such antics. And we just fired a whole bunch of ineffective people who were mostly all lawyers who are great at obstruction but not great at selling or getting things done.
We've had our fill of obstructionism.

Moreover, for a person like me who works in small company niche manufacturing, the parts manufacturers will more likely be nearby, and have to deal in the States, making more jobs than just the 1000 at the prime. Its plausible that Carrier has 10-20 subcomponent Manufacturing.

This is trickle down economics in reality. When a company owns some of the market, their sales trickle into subcomponent contracts. But those Trickle down denyers have not worked in manufacturing mostly. Next time you see a person who denys trickle down ask them about their manufacturing or subcontracting experience.

I was blessed to work on the Space Shuttle as part of Rockwell STS. I cannot count or name all the subcontracts, ( I only dealt with 3-4), but there was so many jobs all over the States. Beyond the Rocket Engines from Utah, parts from Indiana,100s of electronics LRUs, there was even subcontractors for the APU which I dealt with. The area around Downey CA was a hub-bub of technology, many high tech and lower tech vendors near by.

Most of the electronics were designed and made in USA, and this trickled in from HP, trickled down from private sector Silicon Valley (When Silicon Valley produced most of the ICs in the world).

STS was like a society onto itself - and the people I met there were some of the smartest, hardest working, and herioc people I have ever worked with. And I have never seen such productivity (even though some of the new private sector space firms are more cost efficient) from a Government contractor.

Obama saved nothing. In fact, he scaled up the jobs departures and made in-sourcing American jobs to foreigners Great again. Hell, he just expanded the fucking H1B program by executive order last week! A more anti-jobs POTUS is hard to imagine. He didn't have the first clue how such jobs could be saved, didn't want to try, and openly mocked Trump for caring or promising to do something. Obama is a failure and we will all be better off with him permanently consigned to the golf course and away from the reins of power.
