If anyone here runs a business with 10+ employees you understand the pressure from family and friends that ask to have a job because you're the owner. It's gotta be one of the top 5 annoyances (not problems necessarily) of running a business or getting into public life in government. People and especially family and friends all want a hand out. You gotta do your job and then deal with all the noise.

This is no different than selecting a president of your local Lions club who may happen to run for President of the country. Why does the intelligence community have any say over this? Biden is running for President of the USA. To get there he participates in his party nomination process. Trump was either trying to derail his nomination or get dirt for 2020 or both as he thought Biden was both the most likely and most threatening candidate based on all the fake polls which he apparently believed.
